Hold On!

In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried to my God: and he did hear my voice out of his temple, and my cry did enter into his ears. 2 Samual 22:7

Many of us have been despised and rejected by family and friends, when we started to walk the narrow way of faith in Christ. I have suffered for Christ sake, thrown in the pit as Joseph was by his brothers. I've been told that I was weak, since I needed a "stick" to lean on, referring to that I needed Jesus. And in this they were correct, ALL I needed was Jesus, the Christ.

Where are my accusers? I have reached BEYOND and gone ABOVE the earth dwellers. I did break the RECORD by allowing Christ in my life.

PRAISE HIS NAME, for He has been my STRENGTH ALL THE WAY. AMEN!

Hold on for God is with you!

I Know Thy Works!

I know thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them which are evil: and thou hast tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars:
And hast borne, and hast patience, and for My name's sake hast laboured, and hast not fainted.
Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love.
Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.
Revelations 2:2-5

Here we read that God is not impressed with the Work/Mission/Ministry we do, if it is not done out of our first love for Him.

Remember how thrilled and excited you were when the Lord had found you, and when you experienced how His love and peace overwhelmed you. You hardly could stop praising Him, and you were in total AWE! Your sins were forgiven, you felt cleansed and refreshed, you woke up with a song in your heart and had a smile on your face.

People were wondering what had happened to you, and this gave you an opportunity to tell others about the saving grace of Jesus, the Christ. You were beaming like the sun, because you did find LIVE and that abundantly.

Over the years this deep love and excitement faded away, but you're still in the motion of doing your "ministry". You love the Lord, but it has changed from your FIRST Love.

Even your motives to do God's work, as Jesus commanded, has changed, but apparently not so noticable. The same as the Church of Ephesus didn't notice it, until they received the writing.

They were busy buddies, but their motives shifted. They began laboring through their own human effort, instead of through the Spirit of God.

Doing good works out of your own initiative may benefit others, but is not what God wants you to do. He wants you to labor through your LOVE for Christ; minister as unto Him.

You may do a lot of work; volunteering, visiting the lonely, feeding the poor, donating money to orphans, even preaching God`s word. But if it is not done out of your first love for Christ, it has no value in God`s eyes, and you need to repent according to the Scripture.

Whatever we do for God should not be done to satisfy ourselves, as good works or just as a habit. It should be done out of our first love and being HIS work through us; as a vessel in His hands.

It does not matter what we do or how much we do, but HOW it is done WHATEVER we do for God.
You get that?

Let us pray,

Dear Father,
We come to You, in Jesus name.

We ask You to cleanse us from all unrightiousness and the work we've been doing in vain.
Not realizing that at times our motives are not pleasing unto You.
Thank You for opening our eyes for these little foxes which spoil the vineyard.
Draw us back, I pray, to our first love for our Saviour and Lord.
May our lives glorify Your name, and be a blessing to others.
Not counting ourselves, but to sacrifice our lives for others, and live well pleasing unto You in all we do and say.
I thank You for Your loving kindness and Your patience with each one of Your children. I love you Lord and I am glad to be Yours. Bless those who read this, I pray. AMEN

Thoughts

HOPE... FAITH and LOVE

Matthew 5:10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Romans 12:14,15 Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not. Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep.

Who can stand to be persecuted to death? Only those serving the True God, only those true followers of Christ, those that have layed down their lives from the beginning, who have not counted themselves worthy more than their Master, those whose strength is in the Lord and fear God... but NOT man.

AMEN AND AMEN!!
Are you ready?

What do you think the three men in the fiery furnace went through, not knowing what the outcome would be?

"Then Nebuchadnezzar was furious with Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, and his attitude toward them changed. He ordered the furnace heatedseven times hotter than usual and commanded some of the strongest soldiers in his army to tie up Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego and throw them into the blazing furnace. So these men were bound and thrown into the blazing furnace. The king's command was so urgent and the furnace so hot that the flames of the fire killed the soldiers who took up Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego." Dan 3:19-23

Joseph was innocent, but was thrown into prison by his master. Genesis 39:12-20

Seek the LORD, and his strength: seek his face evermore. Remember His marvellous works that He hath done; His wonders, and the judgments of His mouth; Psalm 105:4,5

Nice to walk together in His footsteps, encouraging each other along the way. Holding hands with the Saviour, and never to let go.
This life is just a "breath", eternal life is "breathing".

Psalm 132:4,5 I will not give sleep to mine eyes, or slumber to mine eyelids, Until I find out a place for the LORD, an habitation for the mighty God of Jacob.

Blessed be the name of the Lord God.

Confess and Repent

Some may say: "O well, just accept Jesus as your Saviour, and you're fine." Such people bring an incomplete Gospel, with confusion as a result. They have not studied God's word and present an effortless way of salvation, but not what Christ teaches.

Yes, salvation comes free and not by works, but by Grace and by faith in Jesus Christ. Nevertheless salvation needs to be maintained, which is not effortless. One needs to repent from a previous sinful lifestyle, habits etc.

Salvation is just the beginning of one's walk with God.

The Scripture teaches to WORK OUT our own salvation with fear and trembling. I am not saying that one has to earn his/her salvation.

Ours is the daily sacrifice of the sinful self on the cross of Christ. Romans 12:1

According to the dictionary, repent means:

1. be sorry: to recognize the wrong in something you have done and be sorry about it
2. change ways: to feel regret about a sin or past actions and change your ways or habits.
3. ask for forgiveness, be remorseful, atone.

Of course, with confession of sin comes repentance. Turning away from past sins and its temptations is unmistakably necessary. We cannot keep on repeating the same sin. Jesus Himself says to the adulterous women: "Go and sin no more." The word of God speaks for itself.

Luke 13:3...
I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

Acts 3:19...
Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;

1 Timothy 6:11b-12
and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, gentleness. Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.

You are expected to respond to the Scriptures. Prayer alone is not enough, your walk and confession have to run parallel with your prayer.
